Heavy Fire Damages Skippack Home Sunday; Cats Rescued
A heavy fire damaged a Skippack home on Sunday, but several cats were rescued from the blaze and no humans were injured.

SKIPPACK, PA — A heavy fire Sunday left a Skippack home damaged, but the cats inside the residence were rescued and no humans were injured.
The incident occurred at about 12:39 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17 at a home on the 500 block of Bridge Road.
When crews arrived on the scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the three-story home, where a fire was blazing on the third floor.

Within just over an hour, at around 1:42 p.m., the fire was brought under control.
Fire officials said "several" cats were rescued and safe. Residents of the home made it out before firefighters arrived.

The cause of the blaze is not known and is currently under investigation.
Skippack Fire Company was assisted by units from several surrounding municipalities, including Trappe, Collegeville, Harleysville, Jefferson, Lower Frederick, Lower Providence, Perkiomen, Trappe, and Worcester, along with the Pennsylvania State Police and Skippack Emergency Medical Services.
