14-Year-Old Bucks-Area Girl Charged With Killing Mother Will Remain In Adult Jail

The girl allegedly plotted to have her mother killed along with her boyfriend who is 20 years old.

The eighth-grade girl who is charged with killing her mother will remain in adult jail, according to a report by the Morning Call.

Lehigh County Judge Maria Dantos said late on Friday that the girl’s petition to be moved to a juvenile facility had been denied, the report states.

Jamie Silvonek, 14, is accused of having her mother killed by her boyfriend, Caleb Barnes, 20, according to the report.

The report states that the trouble started when Silvonek’s mother discovered the relationship.

Police found the body of the mother, Cheryl Silvonek, on March 15, partially submerged in a pond near her house, the report states.

Jamie Silvonek and Barnes were discovered naked in bed near the house, the report states.

Silvonek would be the youngest person to be tried as an adult for murder in county history, according to the report.
