A nearby shopper pressed the escalator’s emergency button, alerting mall security, Fox29 said; in the end, it took fire crews from Langhorne-Middletown, Fairless Hills and Penndel about 20 minutes to extricate the boy using hydraulic rams and other tools, the Courier Times said.

The boy, whose name has not been released, was initially transported to St. Mary Medical Center, the Courier Times said, before later being flown to CHOP.
