Street Road Repaving Project Starts Monday

The $4.3 million project will resurface Street Road between Bustleton Pike and I-95 in Lower Southampton and Bensalem townships.

Starting Monday, six miles of Street Road will be repaired and resurfaced.

According to PennDOT, the $4.3 million project will resurface Street Road between Bustleton Pike and I-95 in Lower Southampton and Bensalem townships. Crews will also install new ADA curb ramps.

The project is fully funded by the state’s Act 89 program.

Starting Monday and going through Oct. 3, lane restrictions are planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Street Road between Reading Avenue and Bustleton Pike for conduit installation. Paving is scheduled to start the week of Oct. 6, and will result in lane restrictions weeknights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The milling and paving part of this project will be done in two phases, according to PennDOT. The area between Bustleton Pike and Old Lincoln Highway will be done this year. The pavement between Old Lincoln Highway and I-95 will be done in spring 2015.

The entire project is expected to be finished in July 2015.
