Zen Fitness Hosts Thanksgiving Fundraiser for Philabundance

Ending Hunger One Push-up at a Time

Zen Fitness, a group personal training program with three locations in Bucks County, is holding a Workout for Hunger on Thanksgiving morning to raise funds for Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger-relief organization.

According to Philabundance, each year more than 900,000 individuals in the Delaware Valley are at risk for food insecurity. The Workout for Hunger is a way for community members to help their neighbors in need this holiday season, with the added benefit of burning some extra calories before sitting down to their Thanksgiving meals.

“Nutrition is one of the main focuses of the Zen Fitness program,” said Madalyn St. John, head fitness coach at the Jamison location. “We believe every family should have access to proper nutrition, and donating to Philabundance is one way to help make that a reality in our communities.”

Participants can choose from two class times—6am or 7am on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 27—and from three locations—the Action Karate studios in Jamison, Feasterville or New Britain. Registration for the class is free with participant’s monetary donation to Philabundance. Participants must be at least 15 years of age (under 18 with parental consent).

Individuals wishing to participate in the Workout for Hunger can reserve their spot by calling 855-4-ZEN-FIT. 100 percent of proceeds benefit Philabundance.
