• Wilkes-Barre Township police arrest man in Verizon facility burglary, van arson case (fox56.com) — A Wilkes-Barre Township man is jailed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail after police linked him to an August burglary at a Verizon facility and the theft and burning of a company van. Investigators say they used surveillance video, phone records, interviews, and search warrants, and emphasize the case remains active and all charges are allegations. 
• Mayors Cup preview (fox56.com) — College football fans in Luzerne County can catch King's College and Wilkes University renew their Mayors Cup rivalry Thursday night, with kickoff at 7 p.m. on MYTV WQMY. Coaches say they've stressed sportsmanship after last year's storm-delayed, two-day contest and expect another tight four-quarter game to open the local season.
