Malvern Police Blotter: Tagging the Police Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

DUI... On Aug. 24, at 12:35 a.m., Cindy Coover, 53, of Malvern Borough was charged with driving under the influence. After failing to come to a stop and failing to signal a turn while driving a Jeep on East King Street near Channing Avenue, she failed a field sobriety test and was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests. 

Theft... Police received a report on Aug. 24, at 5:16 p.m. of theft on the 100 block of West Broad Street. About $156 worth of prescription ADHD medication was taken. The door was unlocked.

Harassment by communication... On Sept. 14, police received a call from from the parents of a teenage girl whose boyfriend, a Paoli resident, had threatened on Facebook to kill her. The boyfriend was charged with making terroristic threats, stalking and other charges.

Vandalism... A Toyota Corolla was keyed outside Kinsbury Condominiums some time between Aug. 26 and 28.

Theft... A resident of Charleston Greene reported on Sept. 2 that someone had stolen prescription pills, including 88 Oxycontin and 65 Percocet, valued at $400, from her home.

Institutional Vandalism... On Sept. 5, a 16-year-old male was arrested for writing obscenities on the exterior door of the Malvern Police Department.

DUI... On Sept. 10 at 12:43 a.m., police pulled over a Chevy Silverado truck that failed to stop at a stop sign. Christopher Bartels, 23, of Springfield, failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence. He was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests. 

Assault... On Sept. 11 at 4:45 a.m., an officer was injured while trying to restrain Jason Coover, 32, of Raintree Lane, who had reportedly taken unknown pills and was out of control. The officer suffered nose, head and knee injuries. Coover was charged with aggravated assault.
