Delaware County Community College Gets $750K Grant For Expansion
The funds will help cover the necessary demolition and construction needed at the Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School property.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County Community College is getting a funding boost for its expansion efforts, State Rep. Mike Zabel announced recently.
Zabel said the college is getting an additional $750,000 in state grant funding through the Redevelopment Assistance Capitol Program.
These funds will be used to cover the necessary demolition and construction needed at the former Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School property, and will also help cover the creation of a site that will ultimately host an early childhood education center, two faculty offices and one classroom.

Zabel previously secured $2.5 million for the project after encouraging Gov. Tom Wolf to release similar RACP funds in December.
"This funding is a perfect example of tax dollars coming back to and being put to work in our community," Zabel said. "It is rewarding to be part of efforts that transform older properties like the former Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School into new treasures that will help to educate learners of all ages and provide good paying jobs."
