Flight On Ice Skating Rink Holds Grand Opening In Newtown Square
Flight on Ice is open next to Bonefish Grill in Newtown Square soon with a 60-by-100-foot, full-sized outdoor skating rink and more.
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — A new ice rink and winter village in Newtown Square held a grand opening event Thursday.
Flight On Ice, located at 4889 West Chester Pike, celebrated its opening Thursday evening local officials and representatives.
The new space offers ice skating, holiday lighting and decor, light dining, hot cocoa, special events, and other outdoor fun.

Hours of operation are 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Flight On Ice's rink is the Veterans Memorial Rink — a 60-by-100-foot, full-sized outdoor skating rink. A portion of proceeds will benefit and support local veterans.

"Now, more than ever, we are proud to be a part of Delaware County and are thrilled to allow Flight on Ice to build the ice-skating rink on our property for the enjoyment of the community," said Paul deBotton of Marville, Edgmont Shopping Center. "We wish to thank everyone who helped make this happen. As with the Delaware County Veterans War Memorial (this should be stated at the Delaware County Veterans Memorial), it is my hop. Visitors will be able to warm up in the heated hospitality tent, perfect for relaxing with friends and family after a skate session.
Their taste buds will be tempted with a full menu of sweet and savory treats, and more from local restaurant partners. Guests will also find merchandise and shopping, winter and holiday vibes, and great music to keep you in the holiday spirit.
Flight on Ice can also host holiday gatherings and private events at the 6,000-square-foot rink, as well as in the hospitality tent that can hold up to 100 people.
During the duration of the pop-up, look for special events and programming for Christmas Week, Winter Break Week, New Year's Eve, Super Bowl, Valentine's Day and President's Week.
