Local Author at Newtown Public Library on March 26

Local author Katy McDermott will be at the Newtown Public
Library on March 26 at 7pm.  Ms. McDermott, who is a freelance writer from
the Philadelphia suburbs, has recently
published Meeting Mayhem, the last book in her “Meeting Mysteries” series.  The author also writes essays and blog posts,
is planning a “‘tween-age” series about shelter dogs, and will soon publish a
stand-alone essay collection and a young adult novella for Kindle.

Ms. McDermott grew up in Wynnewood, and my grandparents
had a place in Paoli.  Writing is actually
a family business of sorts, as her great-grandfather, George Horace Lorimer,
edited the Saturday Evening Post for many years and her grandparents wrote the
screenplay for a Bette Davis movie called "June Bride."
