Frank C. Videon Funeral Home sponsored a dinner for the members of the Combined Veterans Alliance
On Wednesday, May 20, the staff of the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home of Broomall presented a dinner honoring the Marple Newtown Combined Veterans Alliance (MNCVA). The dinner was held for approximately 50 veterans with their guests that regularly participate in the grave-side Honor Guard that provides military funeral honors for deceased veterans. The dinner was held at The Porch at the Lamb Tavern, in Springfield. For many years the Combined Veterans Alliance has stepped in to provide Military Honors when active duty and reserve Honor Guards are not available to provide these services. Typically the MNCVA provides between 150 to 200 Honor Guards per year. Under Federal law all veterans are eligible to have a military funeral.
The host for the dinner was David Videon, the brother of Frank C. Videon. He and his staff know many of the MNCVA members because of working together to provide final military honors for deceased veterans. The guest speaker at the dinner was Claude DeBotton, one of the main supporters of the Delaware County Veterans Memorial located on West Chester Pike, in Newotwn Square. Claude unveiled the next phase of the Veterans Memorial, a new building where those visiting the Memorial can rest, remember and pray for their veteran.
