NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – After the tragic shooting at a school in Florida, student safety is at the forefront of the national discussion. One data compiler has revealed which Pennsylvania school districts rank highest in this category.
How did Marple School District fare in Niche.com's list of the Safest School Districts for 2018?
MNSD found itself in the top 10 safest in Pennsylvania, and in the top 30 of the nation's safest.

Based on information from the U.S. Department of Education, the FBI, parent reviews and other data, MNSD was ranked the ninth safest in PA and the 28th safest in the US.

The Marple Newtown schools have been great for me since kindergarten. I have always received the attention I need to succeed.
Overall, the Marple Newtown School District is a good district. The schools are clean, many teachers are nice and have passion about wanting their students to learn instead of sitting and just taking notes, and the district has many different clubs for students to join in.
I transferred into the district my sophomore year of high school and I was so nervous. I was worried I wouldn't make friends and use this change as an excuse to fall behind inclass. Thankfully, I met great friends right away and the teachers always helped me if i needed it to make sure I was always on top of my work. I can't imagine going to school anywhere else!
To compile the ranking, 50 percent was based on parent and student surveys on health and safety. Student absenteeism, suspensions and expulsions were also factored into the rankings, well as percentage of students referred to law enforcement and school-related arrests.

Nearby, the Radnor Township School District was ranked the safest school district in the state and the country.
Other nearby schools that made the top 50 safest in PA include Haverford Township, Rose Tree Media, and Tredyffrin Easttown school districts.
