Rep. Bill Adolph's Annual Veterans Day Breakfast; Certificates of Appreciation presented by the Gen. S.D. Butler Detachment

Veterans from Delaware County enjoyed a free breakfast courtesy of Rep. Bill Adolph; at Highgate at Paoli Point, Certificates were presented

The General Smedley D. Butler Detachment, Marine Corps League, headquartered in Newtown Square participated in many events on Veterans Day. Two of them are noted here.

Annually on Veterans Day, State Representative Bill Adolph of Delaware County sponsors a free breakfast for all veterans in the County. This year, the breakfast was held at the Paxon Hollow Golf Club. The agenda kicked off with Rep. Adolph welcoming the veterans and then the presentation of the Colors by the Color Guard of the General Smedley D. Butler Detachment. The assembled group then recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by local high school student Jackie Rooney who beautifully sang The Star Spangled Banner. The Colors were then retired. Soon thereafter, the veterans and guests settled down to a sumptuous breakfast that the Paxon Hollow Golf Club prepared for them.

Depicted in the first photo is a Marine table with Carmen Laino facing and Jack Kelly to the right. Tom Kerrigan has his back to the photographer. The second photo shows Colonel Wylie W. Johnson, US Army (ret.), and a group of Army veterans seated with him. The chow line is shown in photo three with Denis Morsa, Past Commander of the Broomall Post of the American Legion, starting the group through.
