SUV Crashes Into Delco Home, Leaves Massive Hole

A driver reportedly attempting to make a u-turn in Collingdale ended up crashing into a building, causing part of it to collapse.

COLLINGDALE, PA — A vehicle crashed into a Delaware County home early Friday, leaving a massive hole in the side of the structure.

The Collingdale Fire Company was called to 1001 Clifton Avenue in Collingdale at about 1:46 a.m. for an accident with entrapment.

Crews found an SUV crashed into a building, causing a partial collapse of the brick structure.

Additionally, the SUV took out a utility pole, which led PECO to respond to ensure gas and electric utilities were secure.

The driver was taken out of the SUV by police and was treated at a hospital for unknown injuries

Action News reports the driver was attempting a u-turn and ended up crashing the vehicle.

The fire company said displaced families are being assisted by the Red Cross.
