Community Rallying For Delco Woman Killed In Head-On Crash
Thaduba Magdalena Turay, 21, of Folcroft, died after her vehicle was hit head-on on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia over the weekend.
FOLCROFT, PA — A Delaware County woman died in a head-on crash on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia over the weekend, and now the community is rallying to support a foundation she launched to aid young women in her home country.
Thaduba Magdalena Turay, 21, of Folcroft, died in a crash that occurred at about 2:41 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 95 north at mile marker 19.3 in Philadelphia.
David Bonilla, 44, of Philadelphia, is charged with homicide by vehicle and more crimes in connection with the crash. Authorities said he was under the influence of alcohol and driving south in the northbound lanes when the crash occurred.

Turay was born in Sierra Leone in West Africa and launched "Thaduba’s Passion Project" to support her girls in birthplace.
According to a GoFundMe campaign, the project "promotes the importance of education in girls’ children" and was supporting more than 35 girls by providing them with school fees and supplies.

As of Thursday afternoon, the campaign has raised nearly $3,300 of its $100,000 goal.
"All funds from this will be in support of her foundation back home and to also be an advocate to support against driving under the influence of Alcohol (DUI)," organizer Fatoumata Conteh wrote on the page.
