1. Haverford police warn of 'phone spoofing' over jury duty (delcotimes.com) — Residents in and around Media should be wary of scam calls that spoof local court phone numbers and falsely claim you missed jury duty or owe fines, then threaten arrest if you pay immediately. Haverford police say at least one Delaware County district court serving the Media–Swarthmore area has recently changed its number, and they urge anyone contacted to verify directly with the courts instead of complying with callers' demands.
   

2. N.J. man convicted of endangering motorists during high-speed chase on Blue Route (pottsmerc.com subscription) — State police from the Media barracks helped pursue a driver who reached more than 130 mph on the Blue Route and I-95 before being stopped near the Ben Franklin Bridge. A Montgomery County jury has now convicted the New Jersey man of gun and reckless endangerment charges, and he remains jailed while awaiting sentencing.
   

3. Neshaminy Mall to close this fall (inquirer.com) — Shoppers in Media may recognize their own Granite Run Mall's transformation as a model while Bucks County's Neshaminy Mall prepares to close and likely be redeveloped. The article explains how aging malls across the region are being demolished or reimagined as mixed-use town centers with housing, outdoor walkways, and new retail to better fit current shopping habits.
   

4. Reading Terminal Market's Food Waste Program Hits Million-Pound Milestone (lancasterfarming.com) — Food scraps from Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market are being turned into compost at Linvilla Orchards in Media, where Mother Compost hauls tons of organic waste for reuse instead of landfilling. The program has already diverted a million pounds of food, supporting local farmers and gardeners while keeping hauling costs comparable to regular trash pickup.
