• Franklin County opens cooling sites as heat soars (publicopiniononline.com) — Mont Alto residents can use the local senior activity center on South Main Street as a cooling site during this week’s dangerous heat, with regular hours available even as some other centers extend into the evening. Franklin County is keeping Chambersburg and Greencastle centers open later on July 15 and monitoring conditions for further changes. Call the Area Agency on Aging for details on hours, activities, and lunch menus.
