Bucks Co. Officers Recognized By Commission For Preventing A Tragedy
Police officers from Solebury and Plumstead safely removed a woman who was threatening to jump from a commission bridge on New Year's Day.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has recognized three Bucks County police officers for preventing a potential tragedy at a commission bridge on New Year's Day.
The commission presented the recognition to Officers Brendan Murphy and Patrick Dorsey of the Solebury Township Police Department and Corporal Michael Johnson of the Plumstead Township Police Department.
On January 1 at 4:37 a.m., the officers responded to the Lumberville-Raven Rock Toll-Supported Pedestrian Bridge linking Solebury Township, Pa., with Delaware Township, N.J., for a woman who was threatening to jump into the river.

Solebury Officer Patrick Dorsey and Plumstead Township Corporal Michael Johnson arrived and assisted Officer Brandan Murphy in safely removing the woman from the railing and lifting her back onto the bridge’s walkway surface.
"Officers Murphy and Dorsey and Corporal Johnson exhibited professionalism, fortitude, and a steadfast adherence to their oaths and training by preventing a potentially fatal incident at a commission bridge," said the commission in presenting the proclamation.
