NEW HOPE, PA — The deadline for submitting works to the Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition, the area’s most prestigious juried photography show, is February 28. Celebrating its 30th show this year, its theme is “Photography as Art, Photographer as Artist."

All work must be submitted online via Smarter Entry by February 28. Up to six images can be submitted and artists are encouraged to submit a “body of work” to best represent their creative expression. Work in any photographic medium, from historic to digital, is eligible. Artists can also request a concise, one page portfolio review of submitted work for an additional fee. All artists, local to worldwide, are invited to submit their work.

This year’s juror, Jill Enfield, is an internationally renowned fine art photographer, author and educator. A leading authority on alternative photographic processes, her work has been shown in the U.S. and Europe and can be found in many museums and private. She has taught at The New School’s Parsons School of Design since the late 1980s, at the International Center for Photography in New York City, and at workshops throughout the world. Her award-winning
books are used in schools worldwide.

Enfield’s recent work includes "The Way Home," which captures images of her frequent commute on the Metro North rail line along the scenic Hudson River, and a one-woman show in six galleries on Ellis Island called, "The New Americans."

More information about Enfield can be found on the Phillips’ Mill website at www.phillipsmill.org/photography/photo-exhibition.

Numerous cash prizes will be awarded when the show opens in April including Best in Show and Best Body of Work. A “People’s Choice” award will be announced when the show closes

Accepted artists will be announced March 11. Drop off days at the Mill for accepted work will be March 25 and 26. Artists may also ship their work, or, for a very reasonable fee, digital files can be submitted and the Phillips’ Mill Photo Committee will have the work printed and framed. This was a popular option last year for artists not local to the Mill. All details, including a link to Smarter Entry, can be found in the show’s Call for Art at www.phillipsmill.org/photography/photo-exhibition.

Photographers interested in joining the Mill Photo Committee and participating in its programs, which includes organizing this stellar show, are welcome. Contact Spencer Saunders, founder of the show and chair of Mill Photo programs, at photo@phillipsmill.org.

The 30th Phillips’ Mill Photo Exhibition will be open Sunday, April 2 to 21 at the historic Phillip’s Mill, 2619 River Road just north of New Hope. For information, call 215-862-0582 or visit www.phillipsmill.org.

With an amazingly accomplished jurist slated to assess the images this year, all eyes will be on the historic walls of the old grist mill on River Road come April.
