6 Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Bucks County

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — July is beginning to wane, but not the fun things to do around Bucks County.

This weekend is packed with events, from a free orchestra performance to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus to Bucks County's own Peddler's Village.

Highlighting the weekend will be a summer staple - the Antique & Classic Car Show in Newtown, spotlighting the legendary pre-war Ford in celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary.

Antique & Classic Auto Show Sunday In Newtown

Classic and antique cars and trucks, representing a century's worth of automotive history, will roll into Newtown on Sunday, July 26, for the highly anticipated Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show. Organized by the Newtown Business Association and presented by the Inspire Federal Credit Union, this year's event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on State Street, with the town's historic streetscape providing the backdrop for the show. The rain date is Sunday, August 2.

Santa And Mrs. Claus Visiting Peddler's Village

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be spending a long summer weekend at Peddler’s Village on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Bucks County village has announced. According to the village, the world-famous couple will be staying at the Golden Plough Inn and will be spending their time exploring the specialty shops and boutiques in search of holiday gift ideas, dining at village restaurants, and enjoying summer activities that will include a tour of the Safari in Sand display and attending a Friday night Snow Foam Party.

Demonstration Gardens Open Their Gates

The Penn State Extension invites the community to explore the beauty and educational value of local demonstration gardens during its first-ever Demonstration Garden Open Days. Saturday's event will offer opportunities to connect directly with Master Gardeners and explore a variety of garden styles and educational themes at gardens in Quakertown, Doylestown, Lower Makefield, Newtown, and Bristol. Visitors can enjoy: Seasonal gardening demonstrations, proven science-based advice, family-friendly activities and refreshments, and giveaways.

Valley Square Hosts Carnival-Themed Fun Day

The Shops at Valley Square on Route 611 in Warrington is planning a carnival-themed Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 25, with activities scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, the shopping center will offer music by DJ Tony Dee Entertainment, carnival-themed bounce houses and blow-up games from Jumping Jubilee, face painting and glitter tattoos. Information tables and giveaways will be offered throughout the afternoon by Ulta Beauty, Apple Montessori Schools and Tempur-Pedic USA.

Youth Orchestra Presents Free Bon Voyage Concert

The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County is tuning up for a free Bon Voyage Concert on Sunday at Bucks County Community College, Newtown Campus, beginning at 4 p.m. "Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us as we send off the orchestra," said concert organizers. "The free outdoor performance under the direction of Sebastian Grand will showcase the musical program the ensemble will perform during the tour."

Guided Outdoor Sculpture Tour In Warrington

Bucks County Community College and Warrington Township are partnering to present a unique outdoor sculpture exhibition at Lions Pride Park in Warrington through August 15. The exhibition, installed along the park’s walking trails, showcases three collaborative sculptures created by current Bucks students and two works by alumni. For a closer look at the artwork and the creative process behind them, Professor Jon Burns will lead a guided Sculpture Walk from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 26. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required at warringtonrec.com under “Community Events.”

“Tapestry,” a mixed media sculpture created by students in Bucks County Community College’s Sculpture Foundry class, is one of five works that are part of an outdoor exhibition this summer at Warrington’s Lions Pride Park.
