Fourth Of July Drunken Brawl In Lambertville Results In Summonses
Police were called to the Delaware Riverfront just after 9:30 p.m. where they found a large group of adults engaged in a fight.
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — A Fourth of July drunken brawl resulted in several summonses for disturbing the peace but no arrests.
At 9:32 p.m., Lambertville City Police responded to the Delaware River behind the Lambertville Station Inn for a disturbance. When Patrolman Bereheiko arrived, he found a large group of
adults exiting the towpath and engaging in a fight.
Corporal Wurpel and officers from the West Amwell Police Department, Delaware Township Police Department, and Raritan Township Police Department responded to the scene and assisted with separating the parties.

An investigation revealed that the individuals involved in the fight were highly intoxicated and all knew each other. Police said the fight began on the wing dam, but a sudden rainstorm caused the parties to disperse. While exiting the towpath, police said the altercation continued with pushing and shoving.
While all parties refused to file charges, police said five individuals were issued summonses for violating Lambertville’s ordinance on maintaining peace and good order.

One individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of his injuries.
