Golf For a Great Cause – The Steven Buck/Hardy Bush Golf Tournament

June 26^th over 130 golfers took to the greens at Makefield Highlands Golf Club to support New Hope-Solebury Students. The 31^st annual installment of the Steven Buck/Hardy Bush Memorial Golf Tournament brought out a close-knit community of golfers who helped raise money for scholarships for New Hope-Solebury High School Seniors. With the cost of college going up, students need all the help they can get to fund their education. The effort raised enough money to fund two scholarships and even some extra money to fund other school programs.

This year Penn Community Bank was the flagship sponsor of the tournament. Their team was there to play the course, as well as being key players in raising money for New Hope-Solebury students. Additionally, 36 other local businesses and individuals contributed with donations for Tee Signs to support the effort. It was great to see local businesses come together for a good cause.

This year the winning foursome walked away with the coveted purple blazer and the award for the best score on the course. Brian Laurinaitis, Andrew Smith and brothers Steve Ockenhouse and Mark Ockenhouse came in first place. The Ockenhouse brothers were no strangers to New Hope Solebury School as their parents were both teachers at the school.
