Lahaska-Based Retailer Makes Donation To Camelback Bridge Project
The Friends of the Delaware Canal announced the project in 2022 as "one of their most significant undertakings" to date.

LAHASKA, PA — Lahaska-based LSL Brands is donating $1,000 toward the restoration of the historic Sparh's Camelback Bridge in Upper Black Eddy.
In celebration of its 40th year, the Friends of the Delaware Canal announced the project in 2022 as "one of their most significant undertakings" to date by the nonprofit advocacy organization based in New Hope.
There are 125 bridges that span the canal, but none are quiet as significant as the Camelback Bridges, which were designed to accommodate the canal boats as they passed beneath the crested timber bridge. Today, six camelback bridges remain along the canal and the Friends have been instrumental in preserving, rebuilding, and maintaining the historic structures.

The Friends have funded the restoration of four of the bridges and partially funded a fifth, raising more than $190,000 for the projects. Spahr’s Bridge is the final restoration project and also the largest undertaking to date.
For 40 years, the Friends of the Delaware Canal has been keeping the historic Delaware Canal beautiful through preservation and improvement projects. What started in 1985 has grown into a huge non-profit committed to protecting “the rich legacy and natural beauty of the Delaware Canal”.

When she learned about the bridge project, business owner Karen Thompson and her team of Lace Silhouettes Lingerie, Fox & Holly, Cotton Company, Sunflowers, and Village Outfitters, collectively known as LSL Brands, announced a $1,000 donation to the Friends.
The Friends graciously accepted the donation, saying, “With [LSL Brands] assistance and concern bolstering our organization, we look forward to having a fully-watered canal and intact towpath trail, so we can all take advantage of the opportunities they offer."
LSL Brands has been dedicated to making a difference for 35 years and supports more than 30 charities and community programs annually. While operating multiple store locations throughout the northeast, Thompson and her team prioritize supporting the community.
Thompson said she is thankful for all the work the Friends of the Delaware Canal have been doing for the community for 40 years and wanted to take the organization by making the donation.
