Lambertville Woman Whose Dog Died At PetSmart Organizing Protest
Danielle DiNapoli's 8-year-old bulldog, Scruffles, died in December during a grooming appointment at the Flemington PetSmart.

A Lambertville woman whose dog died late last year during a grooming appointment at a New Jersey PetSmart is organizing a national protest against the corporation next month.
The protest, which will be held May 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at PetSmart locations nationwide, is aimed to send a message to the corporation about their practices, says Danielle DiNapoli.
DiNapoli's 8-year-old bulldog, Scruffles, died in December during a grooming appointment at the Flemington PetSmart. DiNapoli said she still has not received answers from corporate leadership about her beloved pet's death, including in the form of a written report she has repeatedly requested.

The protest is in "no way" against PetSmart employees, "this is against PetSmart corporate and their practices," the protest event page says.
The protest was organized after another dog died recently at a New Jersey store, this time in Toms River.

"This is a chance for us to be the voice for all our furbabies that this treatment needs to end," the event page reads. "No more suffering, no more deaths PetSmart, we are speaking out for all the furbabies! Time to fight change the laws to protect pets and pet owners."
