'Mules And Metropolis' Event To Celebrate The Delaware Canal In Easton
Shuttle service will be available to and from Easton from Canal Park in Solebury and Tinicum Park in Erwinna.

NEW HOPE, PA — The Friends of the Delaware Canal presents its 2023 Faces & Places event in Easton on October 1 beginning at 3 p.m.
Entitled, "Mules and Metropolis," the event will celebrate the arts and history along the Delaware Canal, which extends from Easton to Bristol, with activities and festivities that center around Easton at the Forks of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers and the Delaware Canal.
The annual signature event, which benefits the preservation and improvement efforts of the Friends of the Delaware Canal, will take guests back to the early days on the canal and how Easton continues to be a focal point for visitors to the park.

After a three-stop tour, dinner will be served at the exclusive Pomfret Club, 33 South 4th Street, Easton 18042. The Pomfret Club is a private social club serving distinguished Easton residents and business owners since 1885. Tickets are $175 each; patron tickets are $250 each.
Shuttle service will be available to and from Easton from Canal Park in Solebury and Tinicum Park in Erwinna. For those who prefer to drive to Easton, meet at Pomfret Club at 3 p.m.

The interactive experience will include the following tour of Easton:
- The Guard Lock of the Delaware Canal starting at the Forks of the Delaware River where the Lehigh River meets the Delaware. The Guard Lock is the entrance to the Delaware Canal that once allowed canal boats to traverse from the Lehigh River to the Delaware Canal on their journey from Mount Summit, PA to Philadelphia. Here guests will learn about enhanced visitor experiences for the site as the 2032 Plan for the Delaware Canal will be shared with all who attend.
- National Canal Museum - Explore the museum that is run by the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and learn about the early days of the canal industry of the time and how it shaped the canal network in Pennsylvania. The museum’s canal collection will be available to view.
- Historic Houses Tour – Two historic properties in Easton will be toured emphasizing the history and the important role the canal played in the growth of the city.
