New Hope-Solebury Supports St. Baldricks and Robert Nagg Foundation

The community is invited to an event supporting pediatric cancer research and the Robert Nagg Memorial Foundation.

Last year, the New Hope-Solebury community's fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's Foundation reached an astounding cumulative total of $1Million raised for pediatric cancer. The event was first established following the loss of two students to cancer, Ethan Toohey and Robert Nagg. The community was looking to grieve, and also, to inspire hope. “We wanted to give our kids a platform…to show them you can come together and be part of the solution,” shared Laurie Palau, who has directed the event for eight years.

St. Baldrick's fundraisers recruit "shavees" to shave their heads in solidarity with those undergoing cancer treatment. Participants can choose to shave their head, donate inches of hair, or to support the fundraising drive of one of the registered shavees.

For the first time since 2019, the culminating shaving event will be in-person on New Hope-Solebury School District's Stadium Field. There will be a bounce house, carnival games, raffle prizes, food trucks, and more for all to enjoy! The event is Saturday, May 14 from 11AM-4PM.

On the same day, visitors can also visit New Hope-Solebury for the Robert Nagg Memorial Soccer Game. A beloved community tradition involving a competitive game of current players against NHS alumni players, the Robert Nagg Memorial Fund supports improvements to the New Hope-Solebury stadium.
