Phillips' Mill Issues Call For 2023 Photography Submissions
This year, the Mill will mark three decades of presenting what has become an internationally recognized show.

NEW HOPE, PA — Phillips' Mill is putting out the call for entries for its 30th annual spring photography exhibition.
“Photography as Art, Photographer as Artist" has been the enduring theme of the juried show since its inception. This year, the Mill will mark three decades of presenting what has become an internationally recognized show.
Submissions will be accepted online via Smarter Entry from February 1 to 28. Up to six images may be submitted and artists are encouraged to submit a “body of work” to best represent their creative expression. Work in any photographic medium, from historic to digital, is eligible. Artists can also request a concise, one page portfolio review of submitted work. All photographic artists, local to worldwide, are invited to submit their work.

The juror for this year’s show, Jill Enfield, is an internationally renowned fine art photographer, author and educator. A leading authority on alternative photographic processes, her work has been shown throughout the U.S. and Europe and can be found in museums and private collections around the world.
Enfield has taught at The New School’s Parsons School of Design since the late 1980s as well as at the International Center for Photography in New York City, and at workshops throughout the world. Her award-winning books are used in schools worldwide.

Enfield’s recent work includes The Way Home which captures images of her frequent commute on the Metro North rail line along the scenic Hudson River, and a one-woman show in six galleries on Ellis Island called, "The New Americans." More information about this year’s juror and her impressive body of work can be found on the Phillips’ Mill website at www.phillipsmill.org/photography/photo-exhibition.
Twelve cash prizes will be awarded at the opening of the show in April, including Best in Show
and Best Body of Work. A “People’s Choice” award will be granted at the end of the show.
Accepted artists will be announced March 11. Drop off days at the Mill for accepted work will be March 25 and 26. Artists may also ship their work, or, for a very reasonable fee, files can be submitted and the Phillips’ Mill Photo Committee will have the work printed and framed. This was a popular option last year for artists not local to the Mill. All entry details and requirements can be found in the show prospectus at www.phillipsmill.org/photography/photo-exhibition.
The 30th juried Phillips’ Mill Photo Exhibition will open Sunday, April 2 and run through April 21 in person at the charming and historic Phillip’s Mill on River Road just north of New Hope.
Photographers interested in joining the Mill Photo Committee and participating in its programs, which includes organizing this stellar show, are welcome and should contact Spencer Saunders, founder of the show and chair of the Mill Photo programs, at photo@phillipsmill.org.
With an amazingly accomplished jurist slated to assess the images this year, all eyes will be on the historic walls of the old grist mill on River Road come April.
