Play About Eagles' Tommy McDonald, Written By Ray Didinger, Is Showing In Bucks
Philadelphia sportswriting legend Ray Didinger wrote the play "Tommy and Me" and will host a talk-back after most performances.

NEW HOPE, PA — The story of a lifelong fan's push to get Philadelphia Eagles star Tommy McDonald inducted into the National Football League Hall of Fame is coming to the Bucks County Playhouse.
Ray Didinger, who has covered Philadelphia sports for decades, wrote the play "Tommy and Me" and will host a talk-back after most performances.
"Tommy and Me" is an autobiographical show, recounting " a seminal time in Ray’s life when he helped his lifelong hero get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame."

The show runs April 7-17 at the Bucks County Playhouse, 70 S. Main Street, New Hope, PA 18938
McDonald, who died in 2018, played for the Eagles between 1957 and 1963 as a wide receiver. He was on the 1960 Eagles squad that defeated the Patriots 17-13 to win the Super Bowl.

McDonald hauled in a second-quarter touchdown pass from Norm Van Brocklin in that game.
Buck Shaw coached the 1960 Birds team, with Vince Lombardi at the helm for the Pats.

Didinger was the first print journalist inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame and has won numerous awards for writing and producing. Many nights, a special guest will appear in conversation with him:
