The brewery announced the news in a Monday Facebook posting that said the closing is effective immediately.

NEW HOPE, PA — Triumph Brewing Company at 400 Union Square in New Hope has permanently closed its doors.

The brewery announced the news in a Monday, March 9 Facebook posting that said the closing is effective immediately.

“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the many guests who dined and drank with us over the last 23 years, and to our employees whose hard work and dedication made it possible,” the brewery wrote on its Facebook page.

The closing comes just days before the big St. Patrick’s Day celebration, one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year. In fact, Triumph had just advertised plans for an Irish Fest Weekend on March 13 to 16.

The page didn’t give a reason for the sudden closure, but directed patrons to its locations in Princeton and Red Bank, New Jersey.

Triumph recently hosted Lambertville-New Hope Winterfest’s Chili Cookoff, which brought out a crowd to the brewery.

Triumph is known for its traditional styles of brew from around the world, with a concentration in lagers, eschewing the trendy, the extreme, and the undrinkably weird. Its beers, neither filtered nor pasteurized, were served directly from lagering tanks.
