Ringoes Man Set Up Secret Bathroom Cameras In NYC Airbnb: Cops
Ron Rothman, 44, is facing felony charges following the discovery of the secret cameras.

A Hunterdon County man is accused of setting up an elaborate display of recording devices masked as cell phone chargers inside a New York City Airbnb rental so he could watch women use the bathroom, according to multiple reports.
Ron Rothman, 44, of the Ringoes section of East Amwell has been charged with felony unlawful surveillance after the cameras were discovered Monday, NJ.com reported.
According to a report by NBC New York, the man hid the cameras in an apartment hosted by a woman and her roommate. The cameras, which faced the toilet and the shower, were equipped with remote-viewing capability, police told NBC New York.

"Airbnb takes privacy extremely seriously and there is absolutely no place in our community for this kind of illegal and outrageous behavior. The individual involved has been permanently banned from our community and we have reached out to law enforcement to offer our assistance with their investigation. We hope justice will be served quickly," a statement from Airbnb said.
In addition to being illegal, the alleged actions violate Airbnb policy. Under that policy, cameras are prohibited in bathrooms or bedrooms and all other cameras must be disclosed beforehand. Spying and violating someone's privacy is also prohibited.
