DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, NJ — First responders continue to search the Delaware River and its river banks for a 77-year-old New Jersey man who jumped into the river from the New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge Tuesday morning.
The incident happened just before 10 a.m. on March 5 at the bridge, which spans the Delaware River between Solebury Township, Pa. and Delaware Township, N.J., and is owned and operated by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.
The man, who jumped from the upstream side of the bridge, fell about 50 feet, estimated bridge commission officials. He was last spotted in the river about 50 yards from the bridge.
