Small Plane Crashes Into Hay Field In Hunterdon County, NJ: Police

The aircraft was attempting an emergency landing off of Ellis Road when it went down, reported police in Holland Township, New Jersey.

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pilot sustained minor injuries Monday afternoon when the small fixed-wing single-engine plane he was piloting crashed in Holland Township, Hunterdon County, N.J.

At 4:25 p.m. the aircraft attempted an emergency landing in a large hay field off of Ellis Road when it went down, said Holland Township Police.

The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site by the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad. There were no reported injuries on the ground.

Holland Township Police, Frenchtown Police, New Jersey State Police, Holland Fire Department, Milford Fire Department, and the Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
