'Stay Off The River' Bucks Co. Officials Warn As Rescues Made
If you were thinking of going out on the river this week, just don't.

Authorities in Bucks County are warning residents to say off the Delaware River, as high water levels are causing safety concerns and multiple rescues were reported over the weekend.
According to New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company, two people found clinging to a tree were rescued Sunday night. A group of people walking along the canal path heard yelling for help in the direction of the river.
When police from New Hope and Solebury Township arrived, they were able to rescue one of the victims, who was clinging to a tree 20 feet out into the river. Marine 46, Lambertville Rescue 175's boat, and Upper Makefield Fire Department launched rescue boats.

"Marine 175 hit the water first, with New Hope directly behind. Marine 175 made a skillful pick off of the remaining victim from the tree. Both victims were evaluated by EMS and released," New Hope Eagle said via Facebook.
"There is no doubt that this coordinated effort resulted in two saved lives tonight," authorities with that fire department said.

Meanwhile, authorities are pleading with residents to stay off the river.
"Please, Please, Please, stay off the river for the next few days. We realize how hot it is, but there is no safe way to be in the river right now," the local fire company said.
Bucks County River Country, a popular tubing spot, has been closed since Friday afternoon due to the high water levels. It remained closed Monday, the business announced on Facebook.
Depending on the weather, it will take until at least Thursday for the river to be at a safer level, New Hope Eagle officials estimate.
Solebury Township police shared the following footage on Saturday, urging residents to steer clear from boating and tubing activity:
