Wayward Cow On A Highway Will Fix All Of Your Wrong Impressions Of New Jersey
Think New Jersey is all about traffic, smog, "The Sopranos" and Real Housewives? Well, this wayward cow just proved you wrong.

STOCKTON, NJ — Do you know someone who thinks New Jersey is all about "The Sopranos," traffic on the Turnpike, smog and Real Housewives? Well here's some proof that they're wrong. And it comes in the form of a wayward cow.
Yes, a wayward cow that halted traffic on a New Jersey highway Thursday morning is all the proof you need that New Jersey, by and large, is a rural and beautiful state, says the New Jersey State Police in a hilarious social media post.
According to State Police, this real-time display of the Garden State's idyllic and bucolic charm happened on Route 29 in Hunterdon County, just north of Stockton.

A state trooper on his way to headquarters spotted the bovine escapee and began directing traffic around her. The farmer showed up quickly "and got her girl moving" in the right direction, and between that and assistance from another trooper, the cow made it safely back home.
Now does that sound like an episode of "The Sopranos" to you?

Us, either.
"This is Jersey. Farms. Cows. Chickens. True story. And remember, the New Jersey State Police was created specifically to patrol rural areas that did not have local police, and we still do that today. So, the next time you out-of-staters think of Jersey, think of cows and cornfields... Oh, and Jersey Troopers!"
New Jersey State Police, in its hilarious post, also offered this perfect description of the area:
Now, for those of you unfamiliar with this area, let us explain. State Highway 29 in Hunterdon and northern Mercer County is scenic route, closely hugging the banks of the Delaware river. Some stretches are canopied by an abundance of massive trees locked in an unending battle to reach the sunlight. And when Autumn really hits, the foliage is magnificent. Homes are located sporadically along the route set back far from the road. Some are historic, made of wood and stone, absent of vinyl siding and modern facades. And yes folks, this is Jersey.
