12th Annual Newtown Holiday Parade Set For 2 p.m. Sunday

Get down to South State Street in Newtown Sunday afternoon for the 12th Annual Newtown Holiday parade.

The Newtown Business Association and McCaffrey's Food Markets parade is set to begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stocking Works.

The parade will head north to Washington Avenue and turn left heading west to Sycamore Street where it will head north and end at Durham Road.

About 2,000 people are expected to attend the annual parade, which will feature over 60 participating businesses, organizations, bands, and schools.

Bands marching in the parade will be stopping for the crowds to enjoy their music.

Santa Claus will be in his house at the Newtown Fire Station on Washington Avenue from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. after the parade.
