Get Creative with Canva! Free Technology Classes for Older Adults at Friends Village
Discover your creative side with Senior Planet from AARP, November 2 through December 2, 2026.
Have you ever wanted to design your own greeting cards, personalized holiday gifts, invitations, or flyers but weren’t quite sure where to begin? Friends Village invites older adults to discover just how easy—and fun—digital creativity can be!
Beginning November 2, Friends Village, in partnership with Senior Planet from AARP, will offer Creative with Canva, a FREE, interactive technology course designed to introduce older adults to the exciting possibilities of digital design.
Think of Canva as your very own digital art studio, minus the paint spills, glue-covered fingers, and mysterious glitter that somehow follows you home!
Throughout this hands-on course, participants will explore popular graphic design platforms before diving into Canva, an easy-to-use online design tool that makes creating professional-looking projects accessible to everyone.
Participants will learn how to navigate Canva, experiment with its many creative features, and design everything from personalized greeting cards and invitations to flyers and other unique projects. With guidance from an experienced instructor and encouragement from fellow classmates, everyone will have the opportunity to bring their own creative ideas to life.
And with the holiday season approaching, it’s the perfect time to discover new ways to create something thoughtful and personal for family and friends.
No design experience? No problem! Whether you’re completely new to technology or simply looking to expand your digital skills, this welcoming, interactive course offers an opportunity to learn something new, meet others, and have a little fun along the way.
