150-Lb Black Bear Struck, Killed By Car In Wrightstown

A black bear was struck and killed by a car in Wrightstown over the weekend, according to police.

Newtown Township Police said they were dispatched Sunday around 7 a.m. to the area of Park Avenue and Cherry Lane for a report of a bear that had been hit in the road.

Officers who located the deceased bear report that it appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The Game Commission responded to remove the carcass of the black bear, which was estimated to weigh approximately 150 pounds.
