2018 Newtown Memorial Day Parade: What You Need To Know
Newtown's annual Memorial Day parade will be held Monday, May 28. Here are the details:

Newtown's annual Memorial Day parade will be held Monday, May 28.
The parade, organized by Newtown American Legion - Morell Smith Post 440, will begin at the Commons West Building on Newtown-Yardley Road. Parade participants will line up at 8:30 a.m. The parade steps off at 9 a.m.
The Parade Marshall is Frank Jankowski. The guest speaker is Fred Beans.

Local community organizations and veterans will be marching during the annual event.
On Friday, May 25, there will be a Memorial Day Service at 9 a.m. at Council Rock High School North. The guest speaker this year is Navy Chief Sherry Jones. Click here for details.

Here is the parade route, according to organizers:
- STARTING AT THE COMMONS WEST BUILDING (NEWTOWN-YARDLEY ROAD) GOING SOUTH – LEFT INTO NEWTOWN CEMETERY. MEMORIAL SERVICE AT MORELL SMITH GRAVESITE.
- RIGHT ON ELM AVENUE, LEFT ONTO WASHINGTON AVENUE, LEFT ON LINCOLN AVENUE, RIGHT ON CENTRE STREET, CONTINUE ON CENTRE TO LIBRARY.
- MEMORIAL SERVICE AT WORLD WAR I MONUMENT AT LIBRARY.
- RIGHT ON CONGRESS STREET, LEFT AT JEFFERSON LEFT ONTO STATE STREET
- MEMORIAL SERVICE AND SPEECHES AT BOROUGH HALL.
- THE PARADE WILL CONTINUE ON STATE STREET, RIGHT ONTO CENTRE STREET, CONTINUE ONTO RICHBORO ROAD, RIGHT ON LINDEN AVENUE TO LEGION HOME.
- VETERANS WILL HOLD A MEMORIAL SERVICE AND THEN HONOR THE COUNCIL ROCH NORTH BAND
