3 Dead In Flash Flooding In Upper Makefield Twp.: Bucks Co. Coroner
Storms Saturday flooded Upper and Lower Makefield townships. Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck said a man and two women are dead.

UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Three people are dead after flash flooding following severe storms and downpours early Saturday evening, authorities said.

About 3-6 inches of rain fell in the area Saturday afternoon with Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania reporting on its Facebook page that multiple people and vehicles were swept away by floodwaters down flooded creeks and into the Delaware River.
Emergency Alerts reported that there were water rescues in the 100 block of Washington Crossing Road and multiple people were hanging onto trees with two others trapped in a vehicle in flood waters.

An incident command center has been set up at Washington Crossing United Methodist Church on Wrightstown Road.

4 Bucks Co. State Roads Closed By Flash Flooding
In nearby Lower Makefield Township, police said due to severe storms and torrential downpours, some major roadways in the township are impassable.
Due to torrential rains and localized flooding, the following roads were heavily damaged and are impassable. It is anticipated that they will be closed for an extended period of time, police said.
The roads include:
- River Road, heavily damaged between Mt. Eyre Road and Woodside Road
- Taylorsville Road between Mt. Eyre Road and Woodside Road
- Taylorsville Road is closed between Maplevale and Highland roads at this time due to roadway damage, bridge damage, and debris in the roadway.
There is currently an emergency incident in Upper Makefield and motorists are advised to avoid Route 532, Dolington Road, and Woodside Road.
The Lower Makefield Township road crew, police, and fire police have placed barricades throughout the township. Motorists are advised not to drive past barricades or drive through standing water or flooded roadways.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local news broadcasts and social media for updates and further information.
Police are assessing the damage and conditions of other roadways. Police and Emergency Management ask that residents please avoid these areas. Do not drive through standing water and do not go around police barricades. Please stay off the roads if you are able.
