As much as the kids love their new toys, you may be looking for activities to get them out of the house this holiday break.
Here are five fun, kid-friendly things to do this week in Bucks County:

1. LEGO Castle Adventure at the Mercer Museum
The Mercer Museum, located in Doylestown, will continue its LEGO Castle Adventure exhibit through Jan. 18. The exhibit is divided into three build areas by age—apprentice (toddlers), journeyman (ages 3–6), and master build (ages 7 and up), according to the museum. The LEGO Castle Adventure exhibit is included with museum admission. No advance tickets are necessary. Hours for LEGO Castle Adventure: Mon-Sat: 10 am-5 pm; Sunday: noon-5 pm. 2. Alvin and the Chipmunks at Newtown Theatre
The newest Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, “The Road Chip,” is playing at the historic Newtown Theatre. If you have time before the movie, stroll down State Street and enjoy a cold or warm treat at the Zebra Striped Whale. Weekday movie screenings are scheduled for 2, 4:30 and 7 p.m. Click here for more information.

3. Bucks County Children’s Museum
The Bucks County Children’s Museum has several holiday week events planned, including live animal shows, interactive storytelling and a kids count down on New Year’s Eve. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays during the holiday break, but will be closed Friday for New Year’s Day. Admission is $8 a person. Click here for more information.
4. A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place
Didn’t get a chance to take the kids to Sesame Place yet for the park’s Very Furry Christmas event? The special event continues through New Year’s Eve with Christmas lights, festive decorations, rides and more. Click here for more information.
5. Peddler’s Village and Giggleberry Fair
If you didn’t see the holiday lights at Peddler’s Village, check them out this week. If you have time to spare before it gets dark, stop over to Gigglebery Fair and let the kids ride the indoor merry-go-round, play in the arcade and get some energy out on Giggleberry Mountain, the indoor obstacle course.
