90 Kids Got Presents And Breakfast With Santa At Washington Crossing Inn

Kids in attendance were given gifts courtesy of seven Newtown-area organizations.

The morning of Saturday Dec. 3, 90 children – and 40 adults – brought their appetites and their Christmas wishes to the Washington Crossing Inn for the annual Breakfast with Santa event.

This year’s event was funded and/or hosted by volunteers from the Greater Newtown Exchange Club, the Newtown Rotary Club, the Newtown Lions Club, the Knights of Pythias, the Newtown Presbyterian Church, the Upper Makefield Business Association, and Council Rock School Social Workers and Nurses.

The children were anxiously waiting for was the thrilling arrival of Santa, who showed up riding a siren-blaring Upper Makefield Fire Department engine.

Once Santa arrived, each child got a chance to sit on Old Saint Nick's lap and open a gaily-wrapped Christmas present.

The presents were donated by the aforementioned community organizations and wrapped by age and gender so that each child got a gift fit for them.
