DOYLESTOWN, PA — In collaboration with the Friends of the Doylestown Library, the Doylestown Historical Society continues its USA250 Lecture Series with "The Threads of Revolution" presented by Nicole Frederick on Feb. 15 beginning at 2 p.m.

The 18th century presented one of the finest eras of fashion that history has to offer; it also hosted one of the more tumultuous conflicts that would greatly define the future of the textile industry in America.

A boycott of English goods not only instigated the beginning of the Revolutionary War, but the defiance of the patriots would stir one of the largest examples of fashion statements out of resentment for the King and his taxes.

It is rarely recognized that the Revolutionary War was not only fought on the battlefields, but in the market, on the streets, in the home, and on the body. Frederick will share the intricacies of the textile industry of the day and how textiles became tools of patriotism that defined and valued a nation's loyalty to freedom.

The lecture takes place at the Doylestown Borough Hall, 10 Doyle Street, Doylestown. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so secure a spot by visiting www.doylestownhistorical.org and clicking on events to find the link or Eventbrite.
