Big Weekend Of Holiday Awesomeness Ahead In Newtown
Newtown Borough's tree lighting event is Friday, Nov. 30. Saturday is the Holiday House Tour and Sunday is the parade.

NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown will abound with holiday cheer this weekend with a full lineup of jolly festivities for the whole family. There will be a parade, tree lighting, concert, and holiday house tour.
The weekend will kick off with the annual tree lighting, to be held Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Newtown Fire Department on Washington Avenue.
Then on Saturday, is the annual Newtown Holiday House Tour, organized by the Newtown Historic Association. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will showcase six private homes and six public buildings.

Tickets to the house tour are $30 and can be purchased online or at The Newtown Book & Record Exchange, 102 S. State St., Newtown. Children under 12 are free. Click here for more information about the tour.

Then for the big finale: the annual Newtown Holiday Parade is Sunday, Dec. 2.
The parade, organized by the Newtown Business Association and sponsored by McCaffrey's, will step off at 2 p.m.
The parade starts at the Stocking Works building on South State Street. It continues north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn, then turns right onto Sycamore Street. The parade ends at Sycamore Street and Durham Road.
Also Sunday, the Newtown Theatre will host A Charlie Brown Christmas Jazz Concert by the Eric Mintel Quartet. The concert starts at 3 p.m. on Dec. 2. Tickets are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com.
