Buckingham Man Headed to Trial on Child Sex, Pornography Charges

A Buckingham Township man who was arrested after attempting to meet young boys for sex at a Montgomery County restaurant will face trial for that incident as well as possessing child pornography, court records show.

Kurt Krumpholz, 54, was arrested in January after an undercover police officer determined he was trying to use the Internet to meet underage boys for sex.

Authorities said Krumpholz thought he was meeting two boys, ages 13 and 14, to perform oral sex on them on Jan. 19 when he arrived at the Friendly’s on West Germantown Pike in East Norriton Township.

However, Krumpholz hadn’t set up the meeting online with the boys; he had been chatting with East Norriton Township Police Detective Michael Henricks.

Police were waiting at the restaurant and arrested Krumpholz when he arrived. Krumpholz was charged with criminal attempt of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16, criminal attempt of unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility.

After his arrest, authorities located child pornography on Krumpholz’s cell phone. He was then charged with 20 felony counts of possession of child pornography. His bail was set at a half million dollars for the additional charges.

He remains confined in Montgomery County Prison.
