Caitlan McCafferty Named to Young Friends Board

Furia Rubel Marketing and Public Relations is pleased to announce that account manager Caitlan McCafferty has been named to the board of the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.

The Young Friends of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania is a group of young adults between the ages of 21 and 45 who share a common appreciation for history. The group is responsible for fundraising for the historical society through a variety of educational and social events. The Young Friends raised more than $10,260 for the Adopt-a-Collection program in 2016. The Young Friends have allowed the society to make five important collections more accessible to researchers and the public.

Founded in 2014, the Young Friends of HSP Board currently is served by 30 young professionals from around the Philadelphia region. With backgrounds in everything from artistry to finance to public relations, these young leaders bring an expansive breadth of knowledge and enthusiasm to guide the society’s Young Friends program.

“I am excited to work with an organization that is dedicated to preserving our country’s rich history. Particularly during today’s period of political and cultural upheaval, it is important to reflect on our progress as a nation so we can work together toward a better future,” said McCafferty. “Media – whether historical documents or modern tweets – produces the first draft of history, and seeing how that has played out throughout history gives me a keen insight into my communications work at Furia Rubel.”

One of the oldest historical societies in the United States, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania was founded in 1824. A resident of Newtown, Bucks County, she holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in strategic communication from American University.
