Everyone has stories worth preserving, and this fall, community members will have the opportunity to begin capturing theirs in a warm, supportive environment. Newtown United Methodist Church will host a six‑week guided memoir workshop designed to help participants explore meaningful moments from their lives and shape them into short written pieces.
Beginning Tuesday, September 22 or Thursday, September 24, attendees may choose either the Tuesday evening session at 6:30 PM or the Thursday morning session at 10:00 AM, depending on what best fits their schedule. All sessions will be held in the Newtown United Methodist Church Library and will run 90 minutes.
Each week includes a brief lesson, a guided writing prompt, and optional sharing in a supportive, encouraging space. No writing experience is required. Participants are invited to bring a notebook and pen; laptops are welcome, and legal pads and pens will be provided.
Whether writing for family, friends, future generations, or simply for personal reflection, this workshop offers a gentle, structured way to begin capturing memories, discovering themes, and putting life stories on paper.
Cost: The full six‑week program is $75.
