Zlock Performing Arts Center Presents a Special Prescreening of Bucks County, USA

Episodes 1 & 2 Followed by a Panel Discussion and Q&A with PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff

Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 7:00 PM | FREE and Open to the Public

Newtown, PA – The Zlock Performing Arts Center at Bucks County Community College presents a special screening of the new documentary series Bucks County, USA on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 7:00 PM. The evening will feature the first two episodes of the five-part series, followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A with Judy Woodruff of PBS NewsHour.

The event is FREE and open to the public, but advance ticket registration is required.

From award-winning filmmakers Robert May and Barry Levinson, and produced by Jason Sosnoff, Robert May, and Barry Levinson, Bucks County, USA is a five-part documentary series filmed over four years in politically divided Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The series follows a community navigating one of the most contentious periods in recent American history. What begins as a battle over COVID-19 policies in local schools quickly develops into larger and more complicated debates surrounding education, identity, parenting, politics, and civic life.

At the heart of the story are 14-year-old best friends Evi and Vanessa, whose families hold opposing political beliefs. As the adults around them become increasingly divided, the girls’ friendship provides a powerful reminder that disagreement does not have to end in dehumanization.

Episode 1: The Outbreak

Running Time: 53 minutes

Episode 2: The Petri Dish

Running Time: 58 minutes

Following the screenings, audiences are invited to stay for a special panel discussion and Q&A featuring Judy Woodruff of PBS NewsHour, offering an opportunity to explore the issues raised by the documentary and the broader questions surrounding political division, community, and civil discourse in America.

The program is presented in association with Westdoc.net and WHYY.
