Newtown, PA – In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Zlock Performing Arts Center presents The Great American Songbook Piano Sessions on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM, an intimate contemporary concert experience honoring the songs, composers, and musical traditions that have helped create the soundtrack of America.
This special evening brings together four of Bucks County’s premier pianists — Charlie Ernst, Steve Kramer, Eric Mintel, and Tom Lawton — for a monumental celebration of our nation’s musical heritage.
Each featured pianist will take center stage for a 30-minute set of specially curated music, bringing a distinctive style, personality, and interpretation to selections inspired by the rich legacy of the Great American Songbook. From sophisticated standards and jazz favorites to melodies that have endured across generations, audiences can expect a program filled with musical surprises.
Rather than a traditional concert, The Great American Songbook Piano Sessions is designed to capture the warm, relaxed feeling of a private late-night performance shared among friends. With four remarkable pianists taking turns at the keys, no two sets will sound alike.
Adding to the excitement is an exceptional all-star rhythm section, featuring Lou Volpe on guitar, Motoki Mihara on bass, and Mark Pultorak on drums.
