Zlock Performing Arts Center Presents STEELY DEAD
Where the Precision of Steely Dan Meets the Improvisational Spirit of the Grateful Dead
Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Newtown, PA – Two legendary musical worlds collide when Steely Dead takes the stage at the Zlock Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 7:30 PM for an unforgettable night of classic rock, improvisation, and musical exploration.
Steely Dead is a carefully crafted fusion of the music of Steely Dan and the Grateful Dead, bringing together two distinctly different—but surprisingly complementary—approaches to American rock music.
The band combines the sophisticated arrangements, complex harmonies, and studio precision associated with Steely Dan with the Grateful Dead’s free-flowing improvisation, melodic exploration, and masterful song segues. The result is something far more than a traditional tribute show.
Steely Dead takes the musical DNA of both legendary bands and cross-pollinates their sounds, weaving songs together in unexpected ways while adding its own original jam-band energy. A Steely Dan classic might evolve into a Grateful Dead favorite—or a Dead-inspired improvisation might suddenly find its way into the polished grooves of Steely Dan.
The result is a live concert experience filled with musical surprises, extended jams, intricate arrangements, and seamless transitions that make every performance unique.
For fans of either band, Steely Dead offers a fresh way to experience music they know and love. For fans of classic rock and the jam-band tradition, it’s a musical journey back to the golden era of rock and roll—while creating something entirely new in the process.
Come ready to listen, groove, and see where the music takes you.
