Council Rock Named "Volunteer Of The Year" By Caring Friends
Students put together meal kits that are then boxed and delivered to area agencies that help the hungry and home-bound.

NEWTOWN, PA — Students and teachers from the Council Rock School District have been named “Volunteer of the Year” by the Caring for Friends Foundation, a local charity that provides meals to those in need.
The announcement was made by the Council Rock School District.
Council Rock students have been involved in the program since 2021 and during this school year alone have delivered an average of between 400 and 600 meals a month.

The students and teachers of the Council Rock School District have been named "Volunteer of the Year" by the Caring Friends Foundation of Philadelphia.
The program is a collaboration between students from both Council Rock High School North and Council Rock’s Sloan School. Students put together meal kits that are then boxed and delivered to area agencies that help the hungry and home-bound.

“Hunger does not discriminate,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrew Sanko, “and these students are
demonstrating compassion while learning important social skills.”
The students and their teachers, Cemantha Giulian and Adam Collachi, were featured in the 6ABC-Action News “Hometown Heroes” segment, which aired on March 22.
“The relationships, social skills, and communication among the students are amazing to watch,” said Mrs. Giulian. “This program is really making a big impact on the community.”
